Coaching & Consulting FAQs

Here are the questions leaders commonly ask about our business engagement process, answered as if we were discussing them across a table. If your question about coaching vs consulting or confidential coaching isn't listed here, feel free to bring it up in our first conversation; that’s exactly what it's for.

Coaching helps you find and act on your own answers: a confidential space to think clearly, with someone who asks the questions that cut beneath the noise.

Consulting brings design and delivery: strategy, structure and systems, built with your people and implemented alongside them.

Most of our engagements blend the two, because real problems rarely respect the boundary. If you’re unsure which you need, that’s normal, and it’s exactly what a first conversation sorts out.

Business owners, CEOs, executive teams, and the managers in between, where strategy becomes daily reality. Our clients range from founder-led businesses to international organisations, across Australia, the Uk and Europe and the Middle East.

We’re sector agnostic on purpose: the commercial and cultural sides of leadership look remarkably similar across industries, and an outside perspective is part of what you’re paying for.

Every engagement follows the same five-phase arc, whatever the service.

  1. Establish: build the relationship, understand your context, and agree how we’ll work together.
  2. Explore: notice what’s really going on, what’s shaping you, your environment, and the support you need.
  3. Enable: experiment, practise, and build capability in real leadership and business moments.
  4. Embed: apply the learning consistently in day-to-day leadership and operations.
  5. Evolve: consolidate habits, strengthen self-sufficiency, and sustain progress beyond our work together.

In coaching, that typically means a focused series of one-to-one sessions with preparation, reflection notes and support between sessions. In consulting, it means scoped phases with clear deliverables and your people involved throughout.

Yes, and structurally so. Coaching conversations are confidential to you, separate from HR and performance management. Where an organisation sponsors coaching for its people, we agree the boundaries up front: sponsors see themes and progress, never the content of sessions. Our practice is grounded in the EMCC Competence Framework and Global Code of Ethics, which makes confidentiality a professional obligation, not a courtesy.
